Data Communications
There are two main issues to consider in data
communications:
1. The interface standard (e.g. the physical wiring and voltage consideration)
2. The software protocol (e.g. the order and type of characters being
transmitted)
Before discussing this, a few brief words are necessary on the format of data on
a serial link.
